Sunday, January 19th, 2014:

SwimRI is helping New England Masters Swim Club defend its title in this national, month-long event by running organized heats for current USMS-NEM members:

@ Roger Williams University in Bristol (48 swimmers = 2 per lane x 8 lanes x 3 heats)
Warm-up starts at 8am. Heats start at 9:00, 10:20 & 11:40am. Cost is ~$15 per swimmer. RWU college swimmers will count/time. RSVP to douglas.sayles@swimri.org with your prioritized heat preferences. Post-swim social gathering at Aidan's Irish Pub in Bristol.
@ St. George's School Hoyt Pool in Middletown (32 swimmers = 2 per lane x 8 lanes x 2 heats)

Heats start at 9:15 and 10:30am. Participants arrange for your own timer/counter or else time/count for each other. Cost is ~$10 per swimmer. Post-swim luncheon at The Bike Stop Cafe in Narragansett. For more info contact Fred Bartlett at swimtrirunman@aol.com.

Every yard counts, so if you cannot join us on the 19th ask a coach or friend to count/time for you sometime during January and submit your results!

400 Kick for Time (a USMS Postal Event) & Coach Trent's Holiday Relays!

Sunday, December 22nd @ East Providence Boys & Girls Club. Coach Trent will incorporate these events into SwimRI-Triton Swimming's Sunday 7:30am workout. The postal event is simple: kick 400 yards as fast as you can, then enter your time (if you want) via the event website. For those of you who have never attended a Triton workout, the drop-in fee is $5 and the Sunday theme practices are usually well-attended, spirited and a highlight of everyone's week.

NE-LMSC & USMS Colonies Zone Short Course Meters Championship Meet

Friday-Sunday, December 13th-15th @ Boston University and Saturday team dinner at Boston Beer Works (61 Brookline Avenue, opposite Fenway Park). SwimRI is the defending medium-size team champion. We focus on getting as many SwimRI swimmers as possible involved in relays and into the National Top 10 relay rankings -- relay team age classifications at meters meets are determined by the sum of the ages, not the youngest swimmer's age. All relays are submitted as deck entries at the meet. Unless you inform Frank otherwise at epmasters@aol.com, we will assume that everyone entered in the meet is available for relays on the day(s) you have entered individual events and that anyone swimming on Saturday is also attending the team dinner.

The online meet entry deadline is 11:59pm, Monday, December 9th: http://scmchamps.blogspot.com
